Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Seven Reads — the iOS app and the website (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Your account
You need an account to use Seven Reads. Keep your credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.
Your content
The books you upload, the pages you save, and the notes, highlights and conversations you create remain yours. You give us the limited license needed to store, process and display them back to you — that's what makes the service work — and nothing more. We don't publish your content, and other readers never see your notes, highlights or questions.
You're responsible for having the right to read the files you upload. Upload books you own or that are lawfully available to you; don't use Seven Reads to distribute copyrighted works.
Subscriptions
Seven Reads is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, billed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. The available plans are presented in the app before you commit. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
If your subscription lapses, your library and everything in it stays intact and readable — what pauses is the AI features (chat, voice, and summaries) until you resubscribe.
The AI features
Seven Reads' AI companion answers from the pages you've read, and it is designed never to reveal content beyond your reading position. It is still an AI: answers can be wrong, incomplete, or arguable, and are provided for your reading — not as professional advice of any kind. Judge them the way you'd judge a well-read friend, not an oracle.
Acceptable use
- Don't break, probe, or overload the service, or access another reader's data.
- Don't use the service to infringe copyright or any other right.
- Don't abuse the AI features — including attempts to generate unlawful content or to extract other users' data.
- Don't resell or scrape the service.
We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
The included library
The classics in the built-in store are public-domain works sourced from Project Gutenberg and similar archives. They're provided as a convenience, without warranty as to any particular edition or translation.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Account tab in the app; deletion removes your library, notes, conversations and reading history. We may close the service or your account with reasonable notice — and if we ever did, we'd aim to give you the chance to take your content with you.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seven Reads is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the service after a change means the current terms apply.
